I think it came out great and really gives the room a nice rustic look... which my wife loves:) It is an easy project that any skill level can accomplish. Hopefully it'll give you an idea of what you might be able to build with some free pallet wood. As always, thanks for watching! #palletheadboard #palletproject #diyheadboard #homesteadonomics I own 100% of the rights to the music and visual content of this video. Garage Lumber Rack - Easy Cheap DIY Project

05:56
Here is a quick and simple medium duty lumber rack that I made out of 2x3's and 1/2 plywood. This is a super easy project that can be useful to anyone from a beginner to the more seasoned builder. This project used 6 - 2x3's and 2 1/2 - 10" strips of 1/2 plywood. Plywood was in the home depot 70% off cull bin (for around $4-5 per sheet) and was warped and cracked in many places... but still good enough for this project:) Not sure how many screws I used but lets say that a 1/3 to 1/2 a box would do it;) I used an assortment of what I had on hand though. Please check out my other videos for more random homesteading style projects:) Thanks for watching!

This is the first of a series of videos that will chronicle my construction of a sunken greenhouse, otherwise known as a Walipini or Pit Green house. This isn't necessarily a 'how to' build a green house, but rather the steps that I'm taking to build one. The next part will be pouring of concrete footers, laying of block and getting the sub frame assembly finished and ready for the final roof. Please let me know if you have any questions. TopBar bee hive honey harvest - first time How to

04:52
Harvesting honey from my top bar bee hives that I built this past spring to house 4 feral bee swarms that I was able to capture. It has been a super fun learning experience and I'm happy that I'm able to harvest a small bit of honey for my efforts. I'm NO expert and make TONS of mistakes in my handling of bees. I'm still learning and am merely showing how I'm currently doing this with limited experience and knowledge. Nothing I do should be considered the right/correct way to handle or work around bees and if you choose to do this or anything... you do so at your own risk. #honeyharvest #swarmcapture #beekeeping #topbarhive #diybeekeeping #feralbees #homesteadonomics Thanks for watching and let me know if you have any questions:) I own 100% of the visual content in this video and the music is sourced from my brother in law Trey Harris and the YouTube audio music library. Cutting the Container - Container shop project 1

05:34
Today I’m cutting the 40’ shipping / cargo container into two 20’ pieces and moving them to my house. One half will be converted into the shipping container shop (aka tiny house/man cave shop;). And the other half I’m going to convert into a mini 10ft container to sell to my friend Kirk to help recoup some of the costs of this project. Overall the process was pretty straight forward, just so long as the container is supported well and is on a good base. The cutting was done mostly on my own with some help from my neighbor Al, who sold me the container. But the moving took a lot more resources than I had. Luckily I had some help… actually a lot of help, from my father in law, Les who came with his father and my brother in law and nephew. Thanks guys! Anyways, thanks for watching the project, and please let me know if you have any questions! Hopefully this project will go much quicker than the Sunken Greenhouse project☺ If you guys like the videos I make and would like to help support the channel at no additional cost to you. Making a curvy balance board - Daddy Project

07:32
This is how I made a Waldorf style curvy balance board for my daughter. It's a great motor skills development tool/toy for kids to help improve both physical as well as cognitive development. I used 1/2 a sheet of 1/8" thick utility grade plywood and wood glue for the main board and finished it with Darbin Orvar's beeswax polish. Maybe this will give you an idea of something you might want to make for your kiddo! #curvyboard #diycurvyboard #howtomakeacurvyboard #kidscurvyboard I own 100% of the visual content in this video. Culvert cistern - helping Jason install a culvert cistern

06:26
Here are a few clips I took of a culvert cistern install for my buddy Jason. I wasn't able to get every step of the process since I was helping and didn't want to add extra time to his project by asking people to start and stop when the 'camera' was ready... as well as not being there for the follow up days of form removal, etc,. But it might at least give you a general idea of the basic steps of the process with a few notes of the unfilmed aspects, etc,. Unfilmed portions include site prep, form building, pvc assembly, lid install and interior rubber sealing, PVC rain diversion pipes, etc,. But hopefully, even without those pieces this might give you enough of an idea to see if this might be something you'll want to do. As always, thanks for watching:) #culvertcistern #rainwaterharvesting #diycistern #homesteadonomics I own 100% of the video and music content in this video. How to build a DIY chicken feeder with HVAC duct pipe and other galvanized components. Here is a tour of my rolling DIY workbench and saw station that I originally built with standard lumber and a sheet of plywood. I've incorporated a few useful features like a miter saw extensions, clamping assemblies, easy power access as well as some other odds and ends. As with many of my projects I tried to use what I had on hand such as carriage bolts, electrical conduit, scrap lumber, etc,. Hopefully it might give you some ideas for your next workbench project. Survival Kit Build - Altoids Style Tin

07:09
Here is a quick how to on how I make an Altoids style survival kit. This is just a very basic package of several items you can use to make your own kit. As always, a survival kit should never be a primary option for critical survival needs. It is only meant to be a 'just in case' item that, assuming you've packed your bags properly, you'll never have to dig into. With that said, I always throw one of these in my bag first ensuring that I will have at least the bare minimum to start a fire, purify water and start a shelter build. Maybe this will give you a couple of ideas in making your own version of this classic outdoors project:) NOTE: I'm no longer selling these as my supplies have run out and I'm considering an update to the kit. As you can see from the video... these are all commonly available goods available from either ebay or big box stores. The tins and vials are acquired from specialty bottle company. All of the other items are either hand made (labels) or modified to fit the kit. You should be able to assemble a very similar kit, if not better, with just a little effort. Anyways, thanks for watching and happy building!

Bumper and Stabilizer Jacks for the DIY Travel Trailer

Building an aluminum bumper for the Travel Trailer project. This is the second project that I've welded aluminum on and I'm still trying to get the hang of it...haha... but in the end I'm happy with how it came out! Making lard soap with oats and honey

06:21
Here is my first lard soap video with ground oats and honey. This is a cold process soap with the main ingredients being lard, lye and water. I used the soap/lye calculator at brambleberry.com to find the necessary amount of lye and distilled water to use with my available oil/fat. The ground oats and honey were added after trace... and I think I might add a little more honey or some honey fragrance oil if I try this a second time around. The oats were about right and the overall smell was pretty much just an unscented neutral soap smell. Thanks for watching and if your interested in making soap be sure to do your research:) Recipe was: 25 oz of lard 3.31 oz of lye 8.25 oz of distilled water (4% superfat was calculated in the calculator to give a bit more moisture to the final resulting soap) WARNING to the ignorant among society who don't understand personal responsibility: Please be aware of the danger risks associated with using lye. It can be dangerous and this is not a professional how to video. If you choose to make this or other soap recipes including lye... then you accept FULL liability and responsibility for your own well being. #lardsoap #homesteadonomics #diylardsoap

Industrial Stool Build - How to

06:49
How to build an industrial rustic stool. My wife wanted a industrial piano style stool for our computer area and here's how I built it. The top is laminated pine scraps and the base is made with steel pipe, threaded rod and some steel plate. The welds aren't perfect as I'm still learning this craft, but overall I'm happy with the way it came out and hopefully it might give you some inspiration for a similar project of your own:) Let me know if you have any questions! Poor Man's Winch - Using ratchet straps for winch duties

06:01
A poor mans winch is a concept of using a come along or ratchet strap to get the capabilities of a winch in a more portable and affordable package. Today I’m going to show you a couple of options that I like and think are useful to have around for a variety of different purposes. The ratchet strap I like is a “quickloader” brand that has a some really nice features that most straps don’t have and the come-a-long is a standard one from Harbor Freight that I picked up several years ago and has served me well ever since. I hope this was helpful and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching☺ Here are some links if you want to check them out. Laminated Workbench Top - How To Make (shipping container shop)

08:46
Making a laminated workbench top for the shipping container shop with standard lumber and basic tools! This is only half of the workbench project but I think it is a good "how to" of rather unconventional methods to make a laminated or butcherblock style work surface or table top. No special woodworking tools needed. No jointer, no biscuits, no planer, no pipe clamps... no problem ;) ... but I guess a table saw is sorta special...but it doesn't have to be a fancy one.. mine was $100 on craigslist!! I had limited time to do this, so the rest of the workbench will be coming in a few weeks.
