36 ratings | 306 views
DIY Re-gearing, Valve Adjustment and Carb Sync on the Suzuki Project Bike! This week we give the Suzuki Project Bike some attention. We install new chain and sprockets with a taller gear ratio then we adjust the valves to find all of them were tight and out of spec. After that we give it the finishing touch by performing a carb sync using a carburetor sync tool. I hope these videos inspire you and give you the confidence to try some of these repairs yourself. Hopefully it saves you some money while giving you the satisfaction of doing something meaningful and worth while. The Suzuki Project Bike is finally done! Multiple carbs are a pain, lmao. After my bike days (read daze, lol) I decided that having a temp setup was a pain because everyone would borrow, lol, so I installed permanent set on the inst panel of my little plane, lol. Saved time, and never had to chase anyone up to get 'em back, lmao. Great job!! Next project for our Brandon is "buy a light plane" mate, best fun since your first naughty, lmao!! Cheers from down under!!!! 🇦🇺 🍺🍺

Hahaha Thanks buddy! That's a great idea installing the gauges permanently! Now if I can find a way to permanently attach my tools to my projects lol I thought bikes were an expensive hobby. I cant imagine owning a plain! Cheers buddy!

Good job I got one of those carb vac tools about 40 years ago from J C Whitney and and it still works like new .Did you ever lift the seals and grease your Bearings ? Did that cable greaser work for you?
Brandon Lund (1 month ago)
I did. I figured while I was there might as well. That motion pro cable tool is awesome! I forces the lube into the cable. Even with the tight 90 degree bends it works pretty slick.

Seems like the last few years customer service ,at least online purchased , has gone up ,maybe with more people reading and uploading reviews! But the phone call was really above and beyond!! Always good videos!

Thanks man I appreciate your kind words. I agree, the phone call was over the top. I'm just like everyone, I want to find a good deal too but if I have to pay a couple more dollars to get awesome service or fast shipping I will. The fact that Sprocket Center called and then expedited the part out to me the very next day was awesome.

Nice work, it makes a change to see some good ole basic maintenance for a change instead bikes being torn down and rebuilt using machines none of us can afford.Good to see Uncle Fester junior putting in an appearance :).And Lola too. Guys if lubing cables, double check your shop manual AND the cable to see if its an aftermarket one- some cables had a nylon lining, these could react with WD40 or other lubes and actually stiffen the cable pull- although I never saw it, urban legend was the throttle would not close sometimes, but you know how bikers like to talk lol.

Good point on the cable lube buddy! Uncle Fester is a keeper! He is so into the motorcycle. As soon as we pull into the driveway he starts pointing. I guess I know now that doing that Honda 4 Wheeler build for him is going to pay off :) Cheers buddy!
The carburetor synchronizer is nice
