2018 update: Sadly, the city council that was swept into office with Obamas elections has been a terrible progressive wreck. Many tax and utility increases (green scams) and Bums everywhere. It has become crowded and expensive. I am awaiting retirement in a couple of years and cannot wait to leave.

There are getting to be way too many drifters/homeless/bums. Three distinct groups but it all adds up to a blot on our beautiful city.

I have a job interview for a government job in this city, being a black American I don't know if this will be the right place for me but I hope I get the job so that I can give it a try.

Dude, one thing about FoCo, just about everybody is live and let live and get along with each other.

Yes and if you make one customer unhappy, they tell 50 people, now it is 1000's of people with yelp so one has to truly have a good business or else nowadays.

Our beautiful city.  Constantly changing, it's still a great place to visit and the best place to live!

@Ben Brack Sr. thanx for the mixed news.  500 a mo. for a studio is pretty steep, specially since I'm paying half that much for a studio in a good neighborhood utilities included...but it's in Topeka,ks., and Topeka is flat and boring.
Ben Brack Sr. (4 years ago)
@jason royale Hey Jason, the job situation locally is much better than a few years ago.  Rentals are hard to find (college town) but if you can find a studio or sub-lease, a room will go for $500-1000 or less in outlying areas that are too far for students to commute.

what's the avg. rent on a studio apt?  how's the job situation?  usually college towns like Eugene/Lawrence/Bellingham are great places to live but come with high rents and very few jobs.  I found out the hard way in bellingham
