For more info, please visit http://www.openforum.com/yourbusinesstv. Each week, MSNBC's Your Business features experts to share their secrets for improving your business. Many entrepreneurs are embracing the internet to boost sales, but not everyone is doing it. The owner of a yarn store refuses to set up shop online because it’s not how she wants to run her business. She prefers to interact with her customers on the phone, by email or face to face any day of the week instead of managing her sales through a website.

It's yarn, I prefer to buy my yarn in person, it's very tactile.

So she's gonna give the shop a pun name based off the internet, but not sell shit online? That's like a pizza place with a pun on delivery in its name but they don't deliver. And if SHE doesn't want to do web orders, why doesn't she just CREATE another job for a different person to do?

I've been stuck looking for chunky 100% bamboo yarn. I bought one and that was the only one I found 5 years ago. never in my life did I find another chunky 100% bamboo yarn. D': I want more. that silky antibacterial yarn that keeps you warm on cold days and cool on hot days.

Visiting Fibre Space is like taking a vacation from the hassles of life. The staff truly sets this apart from other yarn stores. The Insta (especially tiny human) posts remind me how creative and joyful this craft is-- I just wish I could knit faster!! Congrats on this great story! Love Old Town's local women run businesses.

Always find what I'm looking for and have a hard time sticking to my shopping list. So many tempting yarns and always someone available to help with the selection.

I wish I had the chance to visit this store before we moved to Alabama. I lived at Baileys Crossroads for 40+ years, and didn't get back into knitting until 2014, and moved away in 2016. Great story!
MJ great story

I LOVE this store! I have discovered so many gems in here. It is a trek for me, but I just set aside a Saturday and make the trip. This is like the treasure trove. You have Lemonade Shop, Hedgehog Fibers, Miss Babs, Brooklyn Tweed, Miss Babs and a slew of others. It's just amazing. I just wish they had more of a lace selection, but I find that most yarn shops don't have a terrible amount of lace because not as many people knit on yarn that thin regularly.
