Chinese Gold Ingots or Sycee - Symbol of Wealth

13 ratings | 3716 views
Chinese ingots are potent symbols of wealth attainment. They are widely used as forms of currency in the old days of China as early as the Qin Dynasty (221 to 206 B.C.) until the end of the Qing Dynasty (1644 to 1911). They are popularly known as "sycee" or boats because of its shape.

Two years ago a Chinese student brought me back an alabaster sycee on a red cord from her visit home. Being young, she don't know exactly what it was or what it meant, just thought I'd like it because she did, and I did (do). I never knew what it meant until now. ...Talk about knowledge bring power. B-) Kid gave me an ancient money symbol. Favorite souvenir to date. "Age quod agis"--do well what you do (OMI ACADEMY SHOUT-OUT)
